Quality Engineer/Technologist - Mechanical

The Quality Engineer/Technologist provides overall quality engineering support for customers, manufacturing and engineering to increase customer satisfaction, decrease warranty and scrap cost and improve overall product quality. He/She will interact with other departments, Managers & Supervisors to efficiently meet customer needs.

Tasks:
Develop, implement and maintain a QA program in accordance with ISO9001 requirements
Communicate with employees to gain ideas and resolve problems to improve processes, quality, and safety
Place safety in the workplace above all else and ensure that safety concerns receive the highest priority
Be able to Complete Gauge R&R and machine capability studies
Accomplish Company and Plant goals by working & collaborating with Managers & Supervisors
Familiar with CNC machining processes
Lead employee teams for process improvement using Lean methodologies.
Engineering change implementation.
New product implementation concerning quality.
Ability to interpret drawing and schematics using geometric tolerance.
Assist in preventative action planning using root cause analysis and corrective action when needed.
Work any overtime and weekends as needed.
Travel as needed to customer & supplier locations.
Work with Suppliers to improve quality and resolve issues.
Promote the adoption of improved technologies, processes and tools to achieve the highest possible quality
Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates' Degree AND 5 years of engineering or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
Bachelor's Degree AND 3 years of engineering or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
A Master's Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional written and oral skills are essential with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Ability to adapt to new technologies and manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines
Six Sigma Black Belt
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel
Innovative with the ability to work with cross-functional groups to implement improvements
Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure
Must possess or be willing to acquire ASQ Certification in a 2 year timeframe.
Capable of balancing speed and accuracy to achieve efficiency
Competent use of common quality assurance methods and tools such as SPC, formal problem solving, FMEA and the development of control plans
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
